Frontier Oil Enters Into New Contract With El Dorado Refinery Union
Frontier Oil Enters Into New Contract With El Dorado Refinery Union HOUSTON, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Oil Corporation (NYSE: FTO) announced that the local membership of the Paper, Allied- Industrial, Chemical & Energy Workers International Union (PACE) at its El Dorado Refinery ratified a new four year contract late yesterday. The new contract is effective February 1, 2002 until January 31, 2006. Frontier's previous contract with PACE expired January 31, 2002. While Frontier and its local union had reached agreement on all local issues prior to the January 31 expiration, completion of the final agreement depended upon the establishment of "national pattern" issues that were negotiated between the PACE International Union and a group of major oil companies led by Royal Dutch/Shell, which agreement was reached after the prior contract expired. In the interim, Frontier's 273 El Dorado PACE employees had been working under rolling 24-hour extensions of the prior contract. Frontier operates a 110,000 barrel-per-day refinery located in El Dorado, Kansas, and a 46,000 barrel-per-day refinery located in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and markets its refined products principally along the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains and in other neighboring plains states.
